Visiting the Mayor - Lucian

"Today we visited the “Rathaus”/City Hall of Holzgerlingen. There, we had the opportunity to meet the mayor of Holzgerlingen and learn about our sister town. We learned about the 70+ clubs represented in Holzgerlingen, which include culture and music, sports, volunteering, and other recreational activities. Notable buildings include the “Musikhaus'' (Music House), “Stadtbücherei'' (Library), “Waldfreibad'' (Open Air Pool), and “Jugendhaus'' (Youth Center). Holzgerlingen was founded in November 1007 and dealt with destruction in the aftermath of WWII due to an airstrike in 1943. During the golden age of the 1950s, it developed into a well-run city. The city has fifteen kindergartens and nurseries, a primary school, a Secondary school, and a High School (Schönbuch-Gymnasium). It’s also a place for nature, including bike trails, hiking trails, BBQ and picnic areas, and many wild animals. Holzgerlingen is known for its history, stories, and food;  it is a lovely place for families to live."
